World of Warcraft: Classic – Addons To Look At

So with this article I am going over some addons I recommend getting for World of Warcraft: Classic. These are by no means end all be all of lists. I will also have one subscription based addon on this list, which is ZygorGuides. While some will disagree with using them, I find it to be a useful addon for leveling at least. So with out further ado here is my list.

Classic Addons

  1. ChatLinkIcons Classic: This addon adds icons in Chat for players, as well as items you link in Chat. What’s cool about this addon as well is it integrates with Pawn, so you can see items that will be upgrades for you based on the stats implemented.
  2. Deadly Boss Mods – Classic: This one is a no brainer for those who have been playing for years. It gives Boss Timers and other Useful Information for inside Dungeons.
  3. Details! Damage Meter Classic: I switched to details as my Damage Meter a while ago, after looking for a replacement for Recount. It shows a more detailed report then what Recount does and in my opinion is a better option. Now this is not a requirement and some may choose to avoid a Damage Meter all together.
  4. FriendsInfo: This addon adds more functionality to the friends list, who list, and ignore list. It allows you to put things like “Good Tank” or “Ninja Looter”. This should help in finding better people to group up with and avoid the ones you don’t want to. It’s great for a community that is enclosed on a server with no Cross Realm!
  5. GroupCalendar: As the Calendar didn’t get added until much later in the game this is useful for setting up events like dungeons and raid runs, or if you are a Role Player you can set up events for that ass well. It can also be configured for Single-Guild Use or Multi-Guild Alliances.
  6. Immersion Classic: Out of all the addons on the list this most important one in my opinion. It allows you to replace the quest and gossip frames with frames inspired by the talking head frame. Essentially it’s like the quest giver is actually talking to you instead of get a wall of text!
  7. MaxCam Classic: Brings the Max Zoom distance to 50, useful to have.
  8. MyRolePlay Classic: This is useful for RolePlayers to set up background information, and other things for your Characters and Role Plays!
  9. The Classic Race: Ok this one is just for fun, it keeps track of the top 50 players on the realm on the Race to 60 it does a /who ever 60 seconds.
  10. Tukui Classic: This is a UI replacement I have been using the Tukui UI addons for years and it’s quite lightweight.
  11. WeakAuras 2 Classic: This allows you to customize to see buffs, debuffs and other useful information!
  12. WeaponSwingTimer: This is useful to keep track of when your Weapon will hit as well as when the targets will hit. Also tracks Hunters Autoshot and Wands.
  13. Zygor Guides: As I stated above I am adding this one because it has been a great help with quests and pointing in the right direction, it’s controversial for some because it’s a quest helper with an arrow to where you need to go and helps you not get lost. Downside is it does require a subscription.

Final Thoughts

Now there are currently 13 addons on my list I would recommend using, while right now I don’t see an Auction House Addon that is worth it. This will probably change in the future. If Zygor does like they do with Retail, they may add a Auction House Addon to their guide. If you think there are other useful Addons you would recommend are think we should try leave a comment below! Classic Launches in a little over a Day!
