What is #VoxAdpocalypse, and how does it affect you?

If you haven’t heard of Steven Crowder (who hasn’t at this point), he is a Conservative Comedian, who uses YouTube and BlazeTV as a Platform for his show Louder with Crowder. Steven frequently does Rebuttals, and Change My Mind videos and has been the cause of VoxAdpocalypse.

Let’s be clear. Steven Crowder is a comedian, and I find him quite funny. He and his staff frequently censor their content to follow community guidelines. He has never called for doxing or attacking members of the other side, in fact from what I have seen, and he tells his viewers not to do that.

So what is VoxAdpocalypse, well it started as a Rebuttal Video to Vox’s “Conservatives Control the Media” which Crowder debunks with sources by going point by point. Yes, he is a comedian, and it is a comedy channel, so he put in some jokes in their probably about 2% is jokes. So after all this what does Carlos Maza due? Maybe rebut the rebuttal video? No, he calls for bans on Crowder.

What happens then is YouTube reached out to Maza on Twitter and decided they were going to investigate. Again keep in mind, Steven Crowder has gotten content strikes and fought it and had many of his videos manually reviewed and APPROVED, has asked YouTube if they are violating policies and have been told they were good.

Now fast forward to this week, YouTube has removed monetization from Crowder’s YouTube Page. YouTube stated publicly it is because of the shirt “Socialism is for Figs” Shirt.

What this does is set a precedent that if the bigger companies don’t like you or your content, they will get you demonetized. You will lose your way to make money. Luckily for Crowder, he does have the Mug Club where he hosts his daily show. However, many don’t have another platform or private advertisers. So we need to take a stand against this and push back.
