Samsung Galaxy S10: The New Premium Smartphone

Yesterday February 20, 2019, Samsung had their Samsung Galaxy S10 Unpacked event. This event is their showcase of the newest devices they would be launching in the coming months. This event was also a celebration of the last 10 years since they launched their first Galaxy S device.

Samsung has come a long way since the first Galaxy Phone, where it was 512MB of RAM and 16GB of Storage (leaving out that some lower end models still have 16GB of Storage). The newer Galaxy devices have boasted increased storage starting with the Galaxy S8 at 64GB and doubling with the Note 9 base model. The new Galaxy S10 will continue this trend with the base model being 128GB of storage all the way up to 1TB with the S10+ version.

The Galaxy S10 is designed for consumers looking for a Premium Smartphone Device with powerful performance. With that, the Galaxy 10 does not disappoint, with the Galaxy S10e built for consumers who want a flat screen, and may not need all the bells and whistles of the S10 or S10+. While the S10 and S10+ return with the edged screen, more RAM and Storage options available for them. The S10 also features the new Dynamic AMOLED Display, next-generation camera, and “intelligent performance”. A fourth model will launch later in the year the Galaxy S10 5G which will boast a bigger screen, larger battery and faster network speeds at 5G.

“Since its launch ten years ago, the Galaxy S series has stood for premium innovation – offering consumers an incredible experience, and the ability to find the device that’s right for them, Galaxy S10 builds on that incredible legacy, and delivers breakthrough display, camera, and performance innovations. With four premium devices, each built for a unique consumer in mind, Samsung is leveraging a decade of industry leadership to usher in a new era of smartphone technology. ”

The New Dynamic AMOLED Display: Full Screen Experience with Ultrasonic Fingerpringprint Scanner

The Galaxy S10 has the world’s first Dynamic AMOLED Display. As well being the first HDR10+-certified smartphone. With this display it delivers vivid digital content, with dynamic tone mapping, so you can see a wider range of color for a more realistic picture. The AMOLED display is also VDE-certified for vibrant bright colors with a better contrast ration for deeper blacks and brighter whites.

The device has been verified by DisplayMate, so that you can enjoy accurate colors on the device even in harsh sunlight. The S10’s display reduces more of the blue light, without compromising picture quality or adding a filter.

With the new AMOLED display comes a new Infinity-O screen that offers a unique edge to edge with a whole for the camera. No more black bars at the top. So now you can maximize your screen real estate without any distractions.

The Galaxy S10s new Fingerprint Scanner uses Ultrasonic that reads the 3D contours of your physical thumbprint and not a 2D image of it, improving anti-spoofing. On top of that it will work even if your finger is wet, this feature also received the world’s first FIDO Alliance Biometric Component Certification. Meaning that it is vault-like security to keep your device and files safe.
